Learn about our after school program through the Cape Ann YMCA!

2 hrPlum Cove, Gloucester, MA

Service Description

Cape Ann YMCA and 400 Trees Gloucester new after school adventure—the Dirt Club! Starting mid-October 2024, students at Plum Cove and Beeman will have the chance to explore the wonders of nature and discover the value of our local ecosystem, from the soil to the trees. This 5-week program will run once a week (schedule TBD), from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m. Led by enthusiastic staff from 400 Trees and the YMCA, kids will dig into hands-on activities that bring them closer to nature, learning how everything starts with the dirt beneath our feet. This fall pilot program could pave the way for expanding the club to more schools across Gloucester and Rockport in spring 2025! For more info, reach out to Adam Frontierro, School Age Director at Cape Ann YMCA (frontierroa@northshoreymca.org), or Victoria Fortune, Education Director at 400 Trees (vicfor@comcast.net).
